The National Education Association (NEA) is building a nation of readers through its program, Read Across America. Now in its 18th year, Read Across America focuses on motivating children and teens to read by providing access to events, partnerships, and reading resources. It is critically important that schools and communities work together to increase early literacy rates, especially for at-risk children in rural, high-poverty communities.
