Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education with support from Jobs for the Future, Utilizing the Village: Building Support for Students' Success in Rural Communities is a three-part webinar series focused on rural dropout prevention and recovery. Webinar One, Building Community Support for Dropout Prevention and Recovery Work in Rural Communities, is featured in this video presentation. It was recorded May 3, 2012, and included guest presenter Doris Terry Williams, Director of the Rural School and Community Trust.

The series is tailored to the unique needs of rural communities and will feature strategies that are cost-effective and easy to implement in middle and high schools. State and district leaders, principals, practitioners and community partners will come away with new resources and ideas presented by staff from leading organizations such as the Rural School and Community Trust and the Everyone Graduates Center at John Hopkins University.
