U.S. Department of Education Reminds Small, Rural School Achievement (SRSA) Grantees of Eligibility Requirements

The Small, Rural School Achievement (SRSA) grant program is designed to address the unique needs of small, rural school districts that frequently lack the personnel and resources needed to compete effectively for Federal competitive grants and that receive formula grant allocations under other programs in amounts too small to be effective in meeting their intended purposes.
The SRSA program may help rural local educational agencies (LEAs or school districts) use Federal resources more effectively to improve the quality of instruction in order to increase student academic achievement. SRSA-eligible LEAs may receive an SRSA grant and may use a unique flexibility authority.
The requirements to receive a federal grant with the U.S Department of Education include:
1) Registration with Dun and Bradstreet for Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS),
2) Registration of your DUNS in the Department of Treasury’s (Treasury) System for Award Management (SAM), and
3) Submission of a signed Application (including Assurances and Certification pages) to the REAP Office (via email to your Program Officer).
