Many rural areas are experiencing significant demographic changes, from population (and job) loss to growth in the number of English language learners. If you are working with GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs)in a rural area, you are invited to participate in the following National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) webinar on key issues, challenges, and successes for GEAR UP programs in rural areas. Rural Trust Communications Director, Mr. Robert Mahaffey will be one of the featured speakers.
Wednesday, December 10, 2014, 3:00 pm - 4:25 pm, Eastern
Among the key issues and questions the webinar will address: What are the most important current and emerging trends affecting middle schools and high schools in rural areas? What needs to be improved? What innovations in policies, programs, practices, and technology are working well? What are the most promising strategies for making a systemic, positive impact on college and career readiness for low-income, first generation students?
The National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) is a national non-profit, non-partisan organization working to increase access to higher education for economically disadvantaged students. Confident that education paves the way to social equity, NCCEP advances college access through advocacy, training, and research.
