Today Is the Deadline!
Today is the deadline for the Conco Community Arts Program grants and the Student Conservation Grants Program (sponsored by the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation and our Stewardship Ozarks Initiative). These are wonderful opportunities for your students and teachers. The grant application process is simple, and there is no reason not to apply for this funding. Please ALERT appropriate teachers and student groups. Go to for application information./div>
Applications must be received in our office via fax or email by 5:00 p.m. today — Monday, November 16th.
Cooper Challenge Grant Deadline Is December 1st
The Community Foundation of the Ozarks' Harry Cooper Supply Company Campaign for the Ozarks Phase II challenge grants application deadline is December 1, 2009. These grants are available only to members of the Rural Schools Partnership or CFO affiliates. Preference will be given to CFO affiliates applying jointly with school districts or school foundations.
This challenge grant program features a $10,000 match for $20,000 raised locally. Restrictions are that the match is for endowment funds that have an academic purpose. We currently anticipate accepting 25 participants. Selected groups will have one year to raise $20,000 for their respective endowment funds, beginning January 1, 2010. The application process is relatively simple — please go to, or contact Julie Leeth for more information: 417-864-6199.

Living With Land and Water in the Ozarks
In the near future Rural School Partnership contacts will receive a copy of Living with Land and Water in the Ozarks, published by Ozarks Water Watch: Upper White River Basin Foundation. This informative booklet received support funding from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks' Stewardship Ozarks Initiative and Rural Schools Partnership. I trust that you will see the value of this publication for teachers and students in our region. We are pleased to announce that we have a limited number of copies to provide you and your colleagues upon request. Please contact me directly at if you want copies or need more information. John E. Moore, Jr. is president of Ozarks Water Watch.
Again, this is another feature of the Rural Schools Partnership.
